Review the evidence supporting the claim
Bring the crash report, witness information, photographs, and any insurance correspondence you have. I review what the available records establish and what additional evidence may be needed. An allegation is not a substitute for proving the issues material to the claim.
Assess the losses and available remedies
Medical expenses, lost earnings, future care, pain and suffering, and lasting limitations may be relevant. Some facts may support a punitive-damages claim, but an impaired-driving allegation does not guarantee recovery or a particular amount. The injury and the coverage must be evaluated on the actual record.
Wrongful-death matters need individual review
If a family member died, explain your relationship and bring the documents available to you. The people entitled to act, the potential claims, and the relevant deadlines need separate attention. This site does not identify the proper claimant or calculate a family’s deadline from a general description.
Discuss proposed papers before deciding
Bring any proposed settlement, release, or insurer request to the consultation. Explain any date you have been given. You do not need to wait for the criminal case to end before asking my office to review the injury matter.
